 EFI possibilities??
Do you think they'll ever convert over to Fuel Injection? Vanguard, Kohler, Ect. or make it an option? If it was an option....which would you rather have?

 Re: EFI possibilities??
Ever heard of anybody trying to put a turbo on any of these engines?

 Re: EFI possibilities??
There was a guy that started messing with one on a briggs 35, but it looks like he's ditched the idea. Haven't seen anything about it in a while.
Stu just got that one all put together, but did mention something about trying out a turbo somewhere in that post.
I have not seen one on a running engine yet...

 Re: EFI possibilities??
FI would be nice, for the fact they're way easier to crank when cold, but its B**** to work on if somethin goes wrong with it. Atleast a carb is mechanical and can be fixed with tools, FI...not so much.

 Re: EFI possibilities??
Hell these damn things are expensive as it is, I'd hate to see what efi would add to the price? I'm sure efi would make for a better mannered al around performin engine though.

 Re: EFI possibilities??
The 29hp Kohler powered GDSD was the first that GD built. I don't know if they will build more or not. It was about $1000 more than the GDSD with a 27hp and as far as I'm concerned was worth every penny. I keep hearing concerns about reliability and maintainability, but I've pretty much discounted that argument because it is tough to buy an automobile or standard outboard without EFI. After putting around 50 hrs on this motor I'm sold. If Kohler came out with EFI on the 999cc engine today I would be bugging Coco to build me one tomorrow. Smooth, responsive, easy to start, powerful and better fuel economy. I've also bought the troubleshooting hardware and software from this outfit just in case. https://store.diagsys.com/catalog/2I haven't needed it yet but it is really interesting to hook up and watch things work on the computer screen.

 Re: EFI possibilities??
That's some good info Alaska. If I was a betting man, I bet it'll come standard on all engines in the future, or be an option..

 Re: EFI possibilities??
I appreciate the compliments, but up here I'm no big deal. My heros are Miki and Juli Collins and Charlie Bolding. Google them, they're the real deal. By the way DMD my bride of 50 years says I'm better looking than that guy. She lies, but I'll take what I can get.
