Keeps breaking..... New to me boat, so don't have any idea what's going on. It's the fuse that has one wire that goes to the starter and the other goes into the wiring harness. Doesn't seem to happen on the trailer as I can rev it up pretty good. As soon as I put it under load on the water, it blows.

Any idea would would be causing this?

If the fuse is continuing to blow, you have a short somewhere. My guess is that the short is close to the switch. One of our pd's did the same thing at one pointg and it was the ignition switch rubbing on the inside of the control box. I just used a heavy duty tape to insulate the switch from the inner wall on the box.

Take a good look at all the wiring on the motor as well. Should be a simple fix, but you def want to find the problem before you burn your harness up.

a fuse is there so you don't do that... putting in a larger fuse is not the right solution lol

Pull your plastic panel up by your trim switch where those wires come in there the yellow and green one is probably touching same problem I had on my boat

This is on a CC so its a little different than a tiller, but I checked all the connections going to the trim switch and clutch switch and everything looks ok. I checked all the ground wires and they seem to be ok too.

In my senior moment putting the wrong fuse in, It appears I burnt up the hot wire going to the clutch. It looks unrepairable, so a new clutch is in my future instead of the wiring harness......

Still can't figure what was causing it to blow though.

Terry, I won't make any excuses for that day, it was the 1st time I'd actually had time to run the boat, so I was still learning what it would & would not do. Yep, I got stuck, twice. Yep I smoked a clutch (& also changed it in a matter of minutes right there in the marsh). Can you tell me exactly what it was that you did that day that was so damn impressive tho? I mean, I had 2 ppl & a BIG AZZ cooler loaded to the gills, while you were riding solo & light, yet I don't seem to recall where you really did anything that I couldn't, well except back up a couple times to get out of the same places I got out of in forward. Maybe you could enlighten us with some videos of your greatness from that day, I saw yall had the camera, surely you got some footage...

Well Rob I just want to see the video that he claims cannot be done with a motor that has a trim unit, since those of us with a trim unit don't know how to push down on a tiller. That's all, really.
