Post where do i run trim
Im new mud motor man so I have a few questions.
One where is the best place to run my trim?
Two I have a 45 mag motor with one carb. and only gettin 4100 rpms. Is this normal?
Three Is there any way to tone down the duals?

1. in the sweet spot, the more tiller timeyou get you will begin to know where it is. every motor/boat will vary.
2. i would assume one would be anywhere from 4100-4250 under a load with that motor...
3. not that im aware of. im not sure if they have silencers like the crossovers do. may be something to look into.

hope this helps. maybe some one with more experience will chime in...

What size boat is your motor on? 4100 for a 45mag is pretty low. Normally ~4500 or higher if you have a Mikuni carb on it.

What is your max RPM out of the water? Did a dealer set this up for you?

Best trim setting is where you are getting your best speed and least tiller torque. Ideally the prop shaft is right on the surface of the water and you are getting a rooster tail while driving on plane. When adjusted correctly you are getting very little push or pull on the tiller while on plane with a balanced load. If you have your prop buried, then you aren't getting the best performance.

FYI, You will get more product specific information on the MB forum.

Watch your tach and gps at the same time.every surface drive I have seen runs trimmed high. If I am throwing a 5 foot rostertail I am trimmed just right. I run a stock 36 pd though

I have the same set up and usually run at 4200-4250 under a light load at about 28 with me and regular boat stuff. I do also have the duels and maybe planning on getting the new BPS Q muffler. Pm me if you have anymore questions i will help if i can.

If your "one carb" is a mikuni, did a dealer install and tune it for you?
What are your out of water rpm's?

Compression check.
Valve lash.
Leak down.

What plugs are you using and what are they gapped at?

Air filter dirty?

That's a good exhaust.

Does your motor have a mikuni or not? What rpm's are you turning out of water?

We're all trying to help you bro, but you gotta give us some info.

First, what will the motor turn up to out of water. Where does the rev limiter kick in?

Second, as richard stated, open the throttle all the way up on the handle and then look at the carb and make sure you are getting full travel. (without the motor running)

Then get back to us.

I run a stock 35 MB Hunter on Gator Trax 1844 guide edition. Boat has two gun boxes and one rear storage bench, 2 batteries, trolling motor. Normal load for fishing by myself my best speed is 26.5 to 27.2 in deep water. With 2 men it's averages 25.2mph. Runs best between 3810 and 3850rpms. Prop is about 2 1/2 inches out of the water.
