Post 36hp PD question....
Some crackhead stole all the copper wiring out of the boat so the last weekend I wired stuff up and got things going and while I was there I figured I would do all my maintenance before teal season started. I changed fluids and filters.

I went from an opaque fuel filter to a clear one and I prime the bulb and get the fuel filter full and fired the motor and let it run a little bit to warm up. Then I twist the throttle to see what my dry WOT RPM's were set at...4110, which is fine. I just happen to notice the fuel filter was now dry and had bubbles coming out of the tank side (still inside the filter). Motor never cut out or acted like it was starving for fuel but I reached over and squeezed the bulb and it filled the filter back up only to have it drain pretty quick.

So long story for short question...am I seeing something normal or is this a sign of a fuel delivery problem I have?

Something I should mention is when the crackheads stole the copper they cut the fuel line so I opted to tap directly to the tank (removed the quick connect) and put new hose clamps on everything, replaced the primer bulb and replaced the piece of hose between the filter and fuel bulb. So I should have a good seal on everything.

Thanks.

If you have bubbles in the filter, you have an air leak somewhere.

Those stock filters will look empty. They don't fill up with fuel and stay full. If its running fine you have nothing to worry about.

Mine did the same thing . I pumped the bulb while I looked for the leaks. It was leaking from the threaded hose barb. I used the liquid thread sealant and it stopped.

Glad I asked...I will go back through my fittings and make sure everything is tight. I did put a new hose barb on the tank and just used the pipe tape.

Thanks guys...y'all are awesome.
