Motor still sluggish on the top end.
But I believe it may be an issue with my jet size.
If I'm running the boat by myself, I can run full throttle and hit 4100 and 28mph. But with 2 other guys, I'm having to feather the throttle around 3/4 full. Any more and it bogs down and loses power. With 3 guys in the boat, I'm running 3700 rpms and around 23mph.
This is with the godevil 2 blade prop. I'm going to put the mud buddy blade on today and take the family to the river.
Now something happened yesterday that made me think it's running too rich. Near the end of a long run with several other boats, I knew I was about to run out of fuel. About 10 seconds before it ran out, the motor started running full throttle and I could hear and feel a difference.

Re: Motor still sluggish on the top end.
Or maybe it's the fact that my carb was hanging by a thread after the 20 mile run yesterday and my choke was not completely seated in the carb.

When it rains it pours. Went out to load the boat and saw the carb dripping. Looks like the carb brace has been rubbing on the bolt head of the carb drain. Got a decent pin hole which explains why I was having to pump the bulb to crank the motor each time after it sat for 5-10 minutes.

You don't want that brace touching, you only want it to stop the swing if you hit something. Leave a gap (you know this now):

Yep I had no idea the bolt head was hollow. Thought a slight touch would make it more snug.
Now I get to visit the Harley Davidson dealership in the morning.
