Adding Electric Fuel pump. Mikuni HSR42
3 Questions:
1.When adding a electric fuel pump do most people go directly to the carb and bypass the factory fuel pump? 2. Also do you regulate the fuel pressure? I have a nice Mallory fuel pump and regulator from my old drag car that is just setting around. It will need to be regulated as it is likely 15 - 20 lbs un-regulated. What should the fuel pressure be set to. I'm guessing 4 - 6 lbs.
3. I have a HSR42 on my fatboy. I've thought about putting the stock carb back on the fatboy before I try to sell it and keeping the Mikuni. Will a HSR 42 from a Harley work on an otherwise stock 25hp Kohler with aftermarket or gutted exhaust? I'm thinking it may be too much carb for the 25 but I could still keep it in case I go to a 35 Kohler in the future. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Russ

or 1 to 2. This is a low pressure operation.
Or you can just guess, but make sure you hook it up straight the battery so you get lots of flow all the time.

mine is a 7 psi pump that i used a regulator to fine tune the pressure with. i found the ideal pressure to be at 4.5 psi.

I use a Facet cube and have been happy with it. It's only lost prime once and it was my fault.

YOu can run it through the factory fuel pump, incase your electric goes down you can still use the factory fuel pump to limp back to the ramp with you pumping the bulb
