Most all the time, people only hear the bad things about companies. Well, from being a business owner, I like to give credit were credit is due.

Storys:

I had a customer that came in to purchase a boat, wanted a PD36 with a Stage 1. I called up Calen. He is the closest that performs this task. He was quick to work with me, and even stay a bit late to recieve motor from my driver.

I had another customer that wanted a GTR35 with a Stage 1. Called up Calen, and he got the ball rolling on that one also.

So, long story short.. If you are around the Morgan City/ Lafayette area and need a Motor or Performance work done.. Calen is the man to go see.

I brought my motor to him to have the valve lash checked. He did a compression check and a leakdown test. Turned out I had a bad vavle. that was at 5:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. Around 10:00 Friday morning it was ready to pick up. And that was with other boats in front of mine. Cant ask for better service.

yea he's def good at what he does and with quick turnaround.....he gets all my business when it comes to my GTR.

Calen is one of the best in the MM field. He'll get my business when the need arises.

Jordy has referred him to me. I talked to calen last night on the phone sounds to be a stand up kinda guy my boat will rig will be heading his way soon.

Does anyone know if he does his own headwork in-house or does he sub it out and/or install aftermarkets like Iron Mountain?

Called Calens today, very nice and helpful. He gave me a price on cams, heads, timing, and carb work for my 23 GTR. Not many options in mufflers. Called BPS, heard that the new Q muffler would fit the 23, guess they will call me back Monday. Just need to save a hole alot of $ now.

Uncle J hooked me up with Calen for a GTR35. I should be getting it anyday, being shipped to Orlando, FL.

I drove 9 hours from north Texas to buy a motor north of morgan city and it wouldn't run and the old boy said it just needed a carb clean and he said he knew a guy who was a gator tail mechanic down the road so I ended up at calens shop! He torr it down sprayed the carb, we put the motor in the water at his shop took a quick spin with him. After about 20 mins of running this go devil he told me to kill it. He was honest enough to tell me dont buy it, he explained to me what it was doing and what was wrong with it and he new the kid who had it and he knew he was trying to screw me! He said "I'm not gunna let u buy it 1 because it's a piece and 2 because I'm don't want my name associated with it"
I dont care what business your in you won't find many mechanics like that!


Instead of trying to sell me something he had (like most salesmen would) he called everyone he knew in that area trying to find me
Something. We found a motor I ended up not buying it through him but if I had to go anywhere to get any motor serviced it would be him! You Wont find a nicer more straight forward mechanic than Calen!
