 pro drive help
Any suggestions in why my motor is rubbing against this piece? I just notice this today and it only rubs if you turn it to the right if you are inside looking at the motor. Thanks for the help.

 Re: pro drive help
Because you bent it from tilting the motor to far back. Cheater pipe and elbow grease.trim all the way down, Slide cheater pipe over it, pull back. If you need more weight get someone to stand on the cavitaion plate to prevent you from lifting the motor. I did mine while trailering it down highway 3127between Vachiere and boutte.

 Re: pro drive help
That sucks, but I guess is a easy fix. I try from keeping it from bouncing so much when trailering, I use a Transom saver, a ratchet tie down to a brace of the boat, but it still freaking bounces. Thanks for the suggestion.

 Re: pro drive help
I am cutting mine to the same hieght of the other one. The only reason that one is longer is because of that little hhok thing they had to hold the motor up. I don't use that so i am cutting it off i hope it works

 pro drive help
You got good advice. Have someone stand on the cav plate, and bend it out with a cheater pipe. As far as it being a problem, talk to Peck about it. At one point back in the day I sent my tower housing in to him an he fixed it for me permanently. With all the talk of transom savers and straps and stuff, you really need to be careful how you do that. It could cause a lot more problems than you think. Trim the motor up against the reverse block and leave it. Don't strap it down.

 Re: pro drive help
Cutting it off does get it off the motor. I don't understand how that piece got bent. If that is bent, something else has got to be wrong too, shouldn't it?

 Re: pro drive help
I put a piece of 3/4 black water hose over those rods on mine so it dont hit the roller so hard, seems to have helped it from hitting so hard going over logs and chit

 Re: pro drive help
I bent mine bad a couple years ago when I hit some underwater pipe running wide open. I just cut it down the same height as the other one. It acts as a stop on the motor when u hit something bad. Without it u and the motor could make friends with each other inside the boat.

 Re: pro drive help
It may not be bent. You may have worn tower bushings. This was my case.
