The quick trim is handy when "rollin over logs" - and such....

Post Re: GoDevil quick trim
Dano - a lot is driver preference....

I set mine - in deep water to where the cavitation plate is 3 to 5 inches below water level....

The tail lifts at speed - due to the lower fins - this lets me dig down into the mud when I want
and also climb small surface obstructions like tree limbs or logs - when I get to a really big log
where 3" to 10" is exposed above the water I nose onto it and stop - reach back and flip that
lever down then "blip" the throttle and walk over the log while dropping the prop really deep
as the transom nears the log - you need about 1 to 2 mph forward speed tp get enough
monentum to coast the last 3 to 4 inches over the log as you quickly lift the prop to max height
and clear the log as the boat continues on..... But set like this 4 out of 5 trips - I never touch
either one of them - I just go....

However - another buddy of mine runs his really shallow - twisting it till the MM is riding the
trim stop while at WOT - he feels it is easier to drive long distances like this - when he needs
to dig in mud - he flips the lever - when he needs to climb over logs - he flips the lever and
gives the knob several full rotations to get the prop depth - then resets afterward...

Experiment - see what works for you and what you like....

when you initially set the manual trim do you do so with the the boat at rest and empty: or with you sitting in it. I set mine with me in it and have the screw all the way in with no more turns to go. Im a big guy and have a 35gdsd on a 1648 mv roughneck.
