 OKLAHOMA, OKLAHOMA,........OKLAHOMA????????
I have been planning for a relocation to St Louis and today I found out that Oklahoma City may be sneaking up on me instead. I know there are a few OK boys on here so I have a few questions.
If it is Oklahoma City, I know I dont want to live in the city. Our business is near the airport (southwest side of city) so where do I want to go looking at land/houses? My priorities are inline as anyones.
1. Rural area with land cheap enough I can afford enough that shoot my rifles in pretty much any direction from my porch. Simple, country people, small community, type environment preferred. 2. Good school public or private nearby (got a 4 year old and a 2 month old). 3. No more than 45 minute commute to work.
Last but not least, WHERE IS THE DUCK HUNTING IN OKLAHOMA????? AM I GOING TO TURN THE GUN ON MYSELF AFTER HUNTING IN WEST TENNESSEE ALL MY LIFE???? WHERE CAN I GO MAKE USE OF MY NEW GTB/GTR???? There is also a possibility of Tulsa and if it is, then we would be starting from scratch so I dont know where our office would be but it definitely would be in industrial area (refining, nitrogen, fabricators, etc) if that tells you what direction. If this happens, all the same questions will apply.

 Re: OKLAHOMA, OKLAHOMA,........OKLAHOMA????????
I dont live in OKC, but I am up there 6-8 times a year working.
The North side of the city is the nicest by far (Edmond area and to the West of there).
Might want to look out West of the city near El Reno, that place has a small town atmosphere but is still close to okc (or as they call it in oklahoma ..'the city')
Hunting... You will be within 2 hours of what is known as tornado alley! (to the West) Some of the best Canada goose hunting in the USA. And ducks in that area... hells yea! You wont want to go back to TN for hunting, that is a FACT.

 Re: OKLAHOMA, OKLAHOMA,........OKLAHOMA????????
Edmond is not a bad place to live at all. I dont know much about OKC but i am very familiar with Tulsa.
I have lived in the Tulsa area for almost 2 years. There is alot to do up here. I would say far more than OKC. I live north of Tulsa about 15 minutes and i can drive 15-30 mins and kill a limit of ducks. I can drive 10 minutes and catch all the fish you want.
Some of the more "industrial" (as you say) parts of town would be West Tulsa or the Port of Catoosa. IM not sure where exactly you would be working.
Either OKC or Tulsa you are going to be close to some great hunting. So dont worry about that.
If you want, you can PM me and ill fill you in/answer any more questions you want.
