 Re: old post
I made one two years ago and it is the best idea I ever had. I found a hard hat with the adjustable headband, got a metal funnel, then went to wal mart and bought a 1 million cp cheap yellow spot light for $9.99, went to auto parts store and bought 2 alligator clips and metal toggle switch. Spent about $25 at this point and the rest is just your time.
I just took the spotlight apart and used the bulb/reflector assembly to mount in the funnel with some small nuts and bolts. I mounted the toggle switch and wired it up running the wire through a rubber grommet then attached the alligator clips. I then applied a little silicone sealant around the reflector and the funnel to keep any moisture out. Total cost should be around $25-30 going this route. It has held up to everything I have thrown at it over the last 2 seasons including pouring rain, ice, and the heaviest damp fog I have ever seen.

 Re: old post
It sounds like everyone uses gator clips? Why not just plug it in to the cig lighther? You can always un plug it again if you need to light a smoke!
