Still "more Teal season in Alaska"
My buddy and his wife lucked out with Draw Tags for Bulls here in south central Alaska. We taged teamed up and took 2 bulls in 5 days. Weather was very rainy and we hunting in rain and waded the swamp water for the entire hunt. My buddyand another friend took his bull, day 3, in a Willow swamp, in about 12" of water. Gutting, quarter and packing was a pain. I hunted with his wife and she put the hammer down on a bull I called out of the brush. The bull answered while we were drifting and calling from the baot in the late evening. After sitting on the hook and calling about a 1/2 hour he came off the river bank into the river....and so....so another moose in the water. Did work out "OK" cause I had a couple come-a-alongs in the boat. Wenched the bull up onto the bank, gutted him and slid him back into the boat. All in and all done we had a great hunt and some "good eats". Duckdon

Great pictures, Don. Ya gotta respect Alaska woman, cause if you don't they'll whup up on ya. The first two rules of moose hunting. 1. Put the first shot in the heart and continue to shoot until it falls over. ( I've seen one take an arrow completely through the heart and it didn't stop eating.)
2. Never, never, ever shoot one in the water........... Unless you have at least two come-alongs with and somewhere to anchor off to.

She is one tough hunter. Walked and called for days in often time pouring rain on this moose hunt. Not a dry spot no where. Camp flooded out in 6 " of water one night. Bet she fell down at least 2 per day and was soaked to the bone and never one complaint. Hip boots fill of water, no problem. When the time came it was one shot, one moose with her Ruger #1, 30-06. She hunted with me last summer and took a 6.5' Black Bear on a short evening hunt with one shot from the same gun. Now she wants a Brown Bear....We have created a monster. Duckdon
