Please let me now how your boat ran with a stock 35 mb and what speeds thanks post pic if you can

expect around 25-26 mph give or take with one person. 22-23 with a three man load.

^Sounds close. I have a 1650 HD but ran a 45 on it before making it a 5k. One person the 35 should be close to the 45. 26 - 28 mph w/ 1 man and low 20's w/ 3 guys.

That's cool think of getting a gatortrax on next boat

If you want to haul big loads you could go w/ the 45 also. From There the bolt on mods will make a big difference.

I have a 1654 gatortail boat with a stock 35 gatortail. Just me 27.7-28.3 mph turning a 3840-3900 rpms

Crews was sliding around in a PD rig last I saw.
As for the boat style I like my huntdeck. Evidently a lot of other folks like the Gatortrax boat too. They aren't down there waiting for someone to place another order so they can have something for the boys to do tomorrow. There are a lot of nice hulls available now and growing every day. W/ every new custom builder the old dogs have to step it up a little more and they do. I personally like all the choices and everyones opinion.
Oh I forgot where I was Excuse Me... Anybody that don't have what I have is an ignorant azzhat and should sell there boat, dog and guns and buy a set of golf clubs and tennis racket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can see having a hunt deck with a Gatortail because it keeps water from washing the transom in reverse...

I like my hunt deck. It hides the bilge, fuel lines, wires, etc... There is wasted space anyway without the hunt deck becuase all the stuff mounted in the back if the boat. Also, the reverse does throw water and mud up on the back of the boat and the hunt deck keeps alot of this out of the boat. But, if you don't like or don't need a hunt deck don't get one. Pretty simple.

My buddy has the same hull I am picking up this week. My hull is a huntdeck model sporting a 35GTR. His hull does not have the huntdeck and sports a 35MB. He said he wishes he would have gotten the huntdeck because we use a couple of super steep boat ramps and if he does not back down super slow he takes water over the transom. Wouldn't be an issue with the huntdeck, plus it hides all of the rigging in the back and makes an excellent platform to take care of post coffee business.

I run a 1654 GT/HD. With a stock 35 MB, one person boat ran 26.5. With carb and exhaust boat runs 28-29. Hull carries a load pretty well.

This has been covered many times before but if you are running with flotation in a GatorTrax boat there is more usable space inside a 1654 with hunt deck than there is on an 1854 without one. This is because I define usable space as gunwale-to-gunwale width space, not the small runway between the chambers holding flotation on a boat equipped with it. On the hunt deck boat the rear flotation material is in the hunt deck.

How do I know this? I have measured them side by side.

Looking at a used 1654 GatorTrax with hunt deck. Was really wanting a 18' w/o hunt deck, but still want flotation. The hunt deck seems to make sense to hold the foam.

Anybody know how much of a difference in performance (speed, load carrying) I could expect from the 1654 to say a 1754 w/hunt deck? Trying to decide if I should hold out for a longer boat. The used boat has a 35MD HD no mods.
