he won't make the book. 114 maybe, private land let him walk 2 years, public land you better trap him and let him grow in captivity.

I'd shot DDM buck however I would take the higher road and let the young one walk

I also have a 31/2 but I got no pick of it!! It is a 133 " deer !! That 4 1/2 is a 167 inch deer !! I can't wate to shot the 6 year old

PostP, the skull is probably in the 140 - 150 range. They are heavy and those tines add up quick. A 150" 8 pt is a big deer.
Rambeaux, I would says low to mid 120's. What area was that pic taken? I don't want you to give your spot away just LA, MS and possibly county. A deer can be a tropy in some areas and a cull in others. Just getting some perspective.
I agree w/ the way you are thinking. W/ a bow that is a trophy. The only places that can truly have good QDM are ones that can control a large area and a large population of deer. If you are not in that situation and let him walk, you are gambling w/ poor odds sir.

There are some areas in S AR and N LA w/ the soil and nutrients to grow this type of deer. Your trail cam pic is of a young deer. W/ 2 yrs he will look like grand-dads. I would guess his was 4.5+ years old. You have some good genetics in place it appears. Post the pick when you get him.

Nice symetrical rack, but (from the pic) doesn't look like he has the mass yet. I'm guessing 115-120. If areas around you have hunting pressure.... are you willing to roll the dice and see if he is around next year? I hunted a 40 acre lot that a friend owns, that gets a lot of hunting pressure plus the surrounding properties get hunted. Veteran's Day 2008, I arrowed this lil' one and he is about 140. No one had seen this buck before so they can and do hide.... until the rut...
