Post More Sea Ducking in Alaska
OK, so I got blowed out Sunday in the "sound". Never even launched the boat. Winds were about 50 Mile per hour and gusty. Snowing like hell with 14" of snow on the launch. I had 2 buddies that went to a local river and they did Ok. Sure do wish this wind would lay down. Another big storm heading in now. They ( News Reports) say this storm will be the biggest one ever recorded. Don't know about that but when the news reports we are getting a winter storm in Alaska.......well, thats saying something cause we hardly look twice. Duckdonfrankdelduck11711.JPG

Fixin to sit next to fire and let'er blow on through. Want to go hunting but we are freezing up now. Most of the water is hard enough to drive a truck on but that makes the open stuff good shooting. Hope to get on the big water this weekend. Duckdon

Kinda like "puddle ducks". I figured there was more than 1 brand of sea duck though.

Dic I was in Boston and that's what we had. On the way to the hunt that morning my buddy was throwing up out the door while I was holding on to him. It had one of those auto door close features so it kept trying to close on him the whole time. We were late so there was no stopping to let him do puke on the side the road. Good times I tell ya

There's nothing like a drake harlequin. One of the finest birds I've ever killed. If any of you guys ever get a chance to go to Alaska and hunt, you better go. It's been a year since I went and not a day goes by that I don't think about going back. We also got some barrows goldeneye's as well, another awesome bird. The only bird we had trouble getting was the scoters. Maybe next time. As far as the weather comment, the people are serious about the weather reports. It can real ugly in a drop of a hat.
