When you get checked by game & fish do they ask to see your hunter education card? I've never been asked for it. I have to get a new card tho and wondered if id be in trouble for not having it. Sending my form off Monday.

If its like here in LA you can go online and print a temp.

never been asked, anyway you couldnt get a license without it if you are younger than the date the program was implemented as mandatory, so i would say if you have a license it proves you took the course, plus all you need to get a license is the ID number from the card

in texas once you have it you can give your HE number to the clerk and once they put it in the database it will save it and everytime you buy your license the number will be on your license so you dont have to show your card everytime.

Forgot I went to school with a guy that's a warden now. I hit him up on facebook and he said I should be fine but that he would issue me a temp card. I've started hunting public more annd just want to have my stuff in order. I'm 37 and have been checked a grand total of 2x in my life. But I've always hunted private too tho.

if you are over the age of 22 you do not need a boater safety card

No wonder mine has never been checked... they look at me and say we know he is old enuf, a person can't get that good lookin in less than 40 years.

My license here in Florida says "Hunter Safety Course Provided" on it so there's really no reason for them to ask.

They need a boat landing courtesies class. Had an ole boy sitting in the boat ramp so I slipped right on by him and up on the trailer. As I winching it up he said can't you see my boat is right there. You need to respect people more. So I preceded to tell him can't you see you are right in way. He shut up and moved his boat

I think people should have to practice launching boats like a nascar pit crew and get a penalty if they take too long.

theres a couple of things i found out about the hunters safety course ID

-you dont have to have one to get a license (I got a hunting lic and never went to safety course)

-you didnt have to go anyway if you hunt with other people because only one person in the group has to have gone to the course.

I learned all this because my dad sent me to hunters safety when I was barely old enough to hold the damn shotgun up to do the shooting part of the class. I was the youngest one in there by about 6 years, but my dad dint know how old i was supposed to be and just dropped me off at the damn thing. needless to say, i failed. (i know, embarrasing) but i learned everything i needed to know by growing up in the country and being with my dad.

I ended up never going back to take the course and just taking my chances hunting without a lic, then one day i said screw it and went to wal mart, asked for a lic, they asked for my dl and that was it. I now have my duck tags, large game and all of that.

I went through the course 5 times, taking different kids and wife. I dont need it but got my cert anyway in case I go out of state and run into Mr Green and he's having a bad day. What happens if you go hunting by yourself and get checked?

If im hunting by myself, it means i accidentally shot my partner. because the only hunting i could think of that id be by myself is deer hunting, and i dont have the patience for that. Lol

They changed the law in LA last year to allow someone to get a license & hunt with a person who has their hunter certification. Before that you had to have one to get a license, but I know a lot of people who would just make up a number to tell the Walmart employee and it always worked.

If where you bought your license they check your HE card, it will be included on your license. If they don't, like at most box stores (academy, gander mtn) it will not be and the game warden will ask to see it. You can download a temp card while you are waiting for your replacement card.
