Post Re: Kohler fuel pump,
That's a different one than the one's I've had. Try this website, I did not check, but if anywhere has it, they do. Been a while since I've been on there, you may have to go to the kohler website first to find the part number.

Go to the kohler website. You have to use internet explorer to use their parts look up system. Should be a link for parts lookup, click on it, sign in as a guest, find your model number. There should be exploded parts diagrams and all the part numbers listed on there.

There is a possibility that it is only available with the valve cover, but most stuff is broken down where you can purchase it individually.

Post Re: Kohler fuel pump,
Did a quick search. Unfortunately it does look like it comes only as a kit. Just under a hundred bucks... The parts diagram does not show a separate part number just for the pump.

Found a few pumps on ebay that look awfully similar to yours, but most of the ch740's use the same pump I had on my engines. You may look at the one's on ebay, they are about 30 bucks, but the model numbers listed are not for the ch740 engine.

Post Re: Kohler fuel pump,
I have an old 25 Kohler in my back yard someone gave me. It was off of a prodrive.

I had a 27 kohler and they were identical.

Here is the fuel pump I took off of the 25 and used to carry in my boat as a spare for my 27.

I also have the starter and rectifier off of it.

Hell I have the whole 25 hp motor in a box behind my shed.

Post Re: Kohler fuel pump,
It should work. Kohler switched their rocker arms and the guts of the pump around 2001ish so as long as the engines both have the same style rocker arms you should be fine.

I recently had to put a new pump on my Kohler and couldn't find just the pump, had to buy the whole valve cover kit. When I bought the engine one of the nipples was broken like yours and the guy put a vacuum pump on it. Don't do that, they are garbage!

I broke one off about a year ago also. Searched around but in the end I just bought one from GD, cause I couldn't find the exact same part by itself.
