 New duck calls
I'm pro-staffing for a new line of arkansass style cut down call that is modified to a double or single reed for the marshes or rice fields of La. It's a a really ducky call that lets u do everything from a High-ball down to the faintest single quack with ease!

 New duck calls
I thought my post poofed for some reason. I didn't realize this was a new thread already. Eager beaver I guess.

 Re: New duck calls
I saw this youtube video where a guy turns a beer can into a duckcall...with that knowledge why would someone buy a call?

 Re: New duck calls
I am a competition caller and have been prostaffing for Buck Gardner Calls and MossyOak Camoflauge for over 5 years now. It is not the call, you can have a call that may spit gold when you blow it but it don't mean crap if you arent proficient with one. All calls can perform, you can make any call go from low end cajun squeels, to high end hails. If you want a call that is better then any one elses, build it yourself, that will be the best satisfaction you will get.

 Re: New duck calls
I prefer Bucks calls because he makes the loudest competition call on the market, and the more volume it produces, the better the scores!!!

 Re: New duck calls
Real ducks do sound like a bad caller most of the time...especially black ducks and teal hens.

 New duck calls
I'll say this... Those contests are cool and all, but I hate hunting with guys who sound like they're trying to win a f'n contest every time they blow a call. Duck calls are the most over used tool on the water these days. 99% of the guys who have them hanging around their neck need to put them back in the blind bag.

Sometimes silence is the best call...especially if you are where they want to be.

 Re: New duck calls
I have a serious question-
Can the other people in the park get charged with baiting if they're giving the geese bread too?

 Re: New duck calls
If I'm with somebody that likes to call, I usually let em have it...unless they suck. I like seeing ducks work but it doesn't have to be me that makes it happen. I usually go out of my way and find them and be where they want to get. That's one of the most fun parts for me. Find em, get hid good and be quite. Instead of watchin them circle and circle working a call. I like to see them coming from a distance and lock up high. Passing right over all the peckerwoods blowing their lungs out and sitting down right in front of me without making a single pass. That's what I like.

Nothing like having some of the new age Drake Wonder Boys set up to close and lay on the hail call for 4 hours straight.

 Re: New duck calls
They will damn sure do it. Few times this yr I've had ppl setup so close I could have joined in on their conversation they were so close. I usually save special calling for these groups. I do a very good chicken call with my echo.

 Re: New duck calls
You all hate the contest callers so much? Seems like if u had the skills to blow a call you would be sitting at theother end of the table. I call ducks until you see there feet dwn.

I call in competitions also with a local custom call company but when its time to hunt I pull out one of two calls. Either my hobo prime meat or the hobo hunter

 Re: New duck calls
geez I read my post, I must have been a little intoxicated when I wrote that. Yes volume comes from the caller, thickness of the reed and the diameter of the exhaust portion of the insert. If any of ya come to reno give a shout at me.
