So I'm here on the boat in southern Illinois close to where the Mississippi and Illinois rivers come together and I have been going crazy all day I can't believe the ducks and geese up here. Just saw my first canvasback Drake and all I have to say is a hunt up here and one of those canvasbacks for the wall is definately on my bucketlist

I made 2 hunts around the same area as you in early November after a Pike Co. bow hunt. Wacked the mallards there. Everything is supersized there. I saw a raccoon that looked like a dog. The deer are about the size of cattle and the yotes look like wolves.

Hey get out of here. There are no waterfowl up this way.

You gotta have cold winters to get the wild game as big as they are around here. (Thousands and thousands of acres of grain fields don't hurt either ) I wish every one of you would come up here and take a deer or ten home with you! But leave my ducks alone!!!!! Coon pelts are averageing around $10, not great, but not terrible. Its still something to do this time of year.

Me and some buddys are actually wanting to get a group together to deer hunt public land for about a week up that way next year and probably go on a guided duck and goose hunt in the corn fields while we are there one day
