 1754 Uncle J, mudbuddy 35...wow!
I know Jason with Uncle J isnt a big mudbuddy advocate, but its what I had...
Anyway, I called Jason a week before Christmas and told him I needed a boat ASAP. After some talks we hammered out exactly what I needed in a boat. I got a 17ft boat with pointed bow and went with a 54in. bottom. The bottom is 3/16", 24in sides that are .125....yes, its a tank! I got full floors, gun box, driver pod moved up to accomodate Mudbuddy's handle, and a big arse front deck with trolling motor mount. This boat is roomy, to say the least! Also, the guy he got to paint the boat did a heck of a job, I sent him a pic of my old boat and he painted this one just like it.
I just sold a .100 gauge Excel 1751 swf4 (thats a whole 'nother story), and this beast will run circles around it, AND it can handle what stumps I manage to find. I took her out this past weekend chasing some mallards in Arkansas and here are the results:
35hp Mudbuddy with single Mikuni and Q muffler, about 1/4in wear off prop
All these speeds were deep water in a slight chop measured with a Garmin 76csx:
2 guys and a kid (approx 500lb), 6 gallons of gas, and minor gear...30.4mph max, constantly running 29.8
Same load as above plus 6doz, dekes, 90lb lab, cooler of food, stove, blind bags and guns...28.1 max, 27.5 constant
I look to get it in some shallow water this weekend with some different loads and I'll post those when I can. This boat looks big and slow, but it is far from it, I couldnt be happier! Thanks again Uncle J!

Yea make sure she stays close to Daddy! My old motor is hanging on the back of your old boat. I sold my Pro Drive to the guy you sold your Excel to.
