limited pics, looks pretty sharp. Has a shifter on the tiller handle for forward, N, and reverse. Transmission too. Vert. shaft motor, kinda looks like a PD.

It looks like a PD because it has a vert engine on it, that's about it.

has the same tiller arm as an etec kinda. trim at the end of the handle. so you can trim up and down with your thumb. squeeze throttle. looks pretty simple for the most part. not what i was really expecting. but theres limited pictures.

Just logged in over at MB site and checked it out on their forum. The new Sport V looks promising. The photos are not very revealing, but I do like the design of the tiller handle and the limited view of the lower unit looks really good too. CEO says the engines which are 36 Vanguards are totally new design and the Big Blades are also. No real news on engine upgrade options or prices for several weeks at least. The product is supposedly gonna release in Aug. 2012. CEO says he's got more patent work to do.

I love my PD and don't plan on changing anytime soon, but this new motor does look promising. It is supposedly easier to disassemble for service than the PD and made of a lightweight Stainless Steel casting that is used on aircraft landing gear, etc., etc. Transmission is supposedly designed for up to 300 hp application. Who knows, time will tell?????

He needs to let the cat out of the bag with this new unit. As of now it looks like a prodrive with instant reverse. He sure makes it sound like a glorified outboard. I want to see some pics and videos of it actually doing what a mudmotor needs to be able to do...

For the MB guys it will have great new features for them. But it will have downfalls for them also just like all other brands. It's give and take for what you like. I run pd boat and motor and couldn't be happier but are there things I would change, of course. Society brought us up to never settle therefore not one honest man on this site can say hes 100% happy with their purchase. Except the GD guys. Lol.

300HP clutch is just a power rating not, a shock load rate, tension rate, and not a heat rating (even though hp can be converted to heat,but its still not heat.), or shear rate. that is all. if they did their homework for past 3 years they might have it done right doubtful but possible.

Bring it to LA to test. Many different areas that people can try to break it at.

I'll keep my GTR just my thought.

Tried to check it out the last few days on the MB forum, just another let down. Still have not seen a pic. Great marketing on MB's part. He starts blabbing out the new motor has reverse and then not put some clear pics out for people to see. WHAT A JOKE!
