Post Phowler Extreme 1756
Picked up my new Phowler 1756 Extreme from Paul a couple of weeks ago and after strapping the motor on and a little camo job I finally got to put it to the test this past weekend, and it did not disappoint!!

Boat:

2012 Phowler Extreme 1756
-Hydro turf
-Bottom Runners
-Removable Grab Rails
-Extra Seat bases for now fishing
-Pointed now

Motor:
2006 Mudbuddy 31hp
-Mikuni carb
-IM Heads
-BPS Q Muffler

Speeds:

1-2 people
-29-30 Deep on GPS

Saturdays Hunting load:
-4 Men: 740 lbs
-2 Labs: 140 Lbs
-4 dozen decoys: 80 lbs
-Guns, blind bags, dog stands, etc..
50 lbs

Total weight: 1010 lbs

GPS at 22.5 and was bumping 23 deep water with mild chop.

I am overly impressed with the rig and it definitely did not disappoint!

If you can still get the Thompson trim unit i would try that first. It replaced the Baer and a whole lot cheaper than going to the Merc.

I had a 31 that had the Bear trim that went out and replaced with the Thompson. Think it was around $250 and it worked great. You could replace 3 of those units for what the Merc trim costs. There was even a thread somewhere on the mb forum and a guy tells how to rebuild them if something happens for I think $100. Just depends on what you want to spend.
