Hey guys im pretty new to this site. been trollin and reading up on things on here. im in the market on buy a new mm to replace my longtail. im looking at buying a CC model and have real hard time decideing which boat to choose. one of my main concerns that would be a huge selling point is in the reverse. i hunt mostly in rozo cane patches getting into them is no problem but once in cant push back out. question is can either the gtr or pd back off these things once in and hunted in? ive hunted with a buddy in a GDSD and was pretty fast 28 with three ppl down river on stock motor and liked it but i really want a CC model. But the GDSD couldnt push through the canes once hunted in and go try pick up ducks.
any help would be nice and or video

not really running through them just hunt out of them so only time i need to go in and out is hunting. where i hunt not really much mud either its more just really shallow water and lillies and grass in water. nothing some of the guys here hunt it. like i said i have a longtail now and it serves its pupose just way to slow and way to much work and to me not safe at all. i hate when i make solo hunts with that thing.

The full power reverse of the Prodrive would be helpful in that situation. One of the reasons I originally bought mine was so that I could make trails thru the lily pads by ramming them until I stop, then using FPR to back out and try again.

No different than all the guys who hunt the same type areas!! Test drive both and pick what you want were are you located might be some people in that area!! If not plan a trip to la. And test drive them both

i hunt mostly out in the wax and salv in south la. i live around baton rouge right now so GT only about 1.5 hours away but didnt know if they did test drives and what not. looking to get a CC model mainly bc of long fishing trip runs. also being able to just sit and cruise is nice.
like mentioned above no real "mud flats" like u guys run in over in tx just shallow water and tons and tons of vegetation.

ive seen videos of FPR and seems pretty bad ass but dont really care for the design of lower unit. is the GT reverse worth a crap in anything other than clean water basically boat launch. does it have enough erse to get u unstuck if in lilly or grass?

I originally bought my Prodrive rig to run Salvador specifically. All of my buddies have GTR's in Delacroix and they are great down there but I would rather my rig in Salvador.

There both great motors. Like mentioned above before spending a shit load of cash on something your not sure about, go test drive them both and see which best suites your needs. Wish I would have had this info before I bought my rig! Fo Sho!

That's how I hunt in venice...FPR will pull u right out ! I have pulled a GTR out of the canes hunting in the same spot cause he was too far in and could not reverse out
