Post I think I have come to a decision on a new motor. Pro Drive.
I have decided to go with the X36 from Pro Drive with a 1854 X Series Pro Drive boat. Still debating if I want to add a CC or not... If any members run this motor, I would love some reviews.

Thanks. :D

Dats a goodin choice on da motor but I wouldn't be puttin da console in. Typically ya wanna center console fer big water. All it does is take up floor space if ya ain't needed it fer dat reason. Besides, when yer runnin in da mud ya wanna be right next to da motor ta see what's goin on.

good choice on the motor. I have owned 2 pro drives, the 27 and the 36, as well as a mud buddy. The ease of driving is very nice, and they are tough built motors with customer service that is second to none. Hard to go wrong with any of the big 3 (MB, PD, and GT). My personal preferance would not be a CC boat though.

CC for just fishing. If you have any chance of being stuck in mud get a tiller handle.

I was thinking that having a console would limit my abilities in the mud so I am glad y'all brought that up. I want my father to be able to enjoy then boat as well because he loves to crappie fish. Plus, he is older and I wanted something that would be easier for him to use.

Also, I am located in Woodville, meterman. If I ever get the time, I would love to try it out.

Also, does anyone know if Pro Drive sells directly from the shop in Loreauville? If so, I would like to shave a few bucks off by not going through a dealer.

They do sell at the main place.

Dealers usually do not mark them up.

Prices are set by ProDrive.

Yeah, what he said.^ You will pay full retail through PD, but yes you can order through them. Through a dealer, you may pay a little less if they have old inventory, a little more if they can't keep em in stock.

good choice ole boy,,,

i got the 17x54 which i bought a cc then pulled the console out and put a tiller on it...

i have much more room now!!! a little advice,,,if you go with the cc make sure you get hydraulic steering and at least the 18ft boat. if you get in the mud with the cable steering they come with you wont be able to turn the motor.

if you fish and frog only then cc will suit you fine, but if you play in the mud any you will get better results from the tiller...
