 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
Yes...he owns bernice's tire and mechanic shop. From what I'm told he used to do all of GT mod work. He actually put a stage II on my GTR 2 years ago. I forgot all what he actually did though. I know he did work to the heads and added a cam, jetted stock carb. The motor runs great, I'm looking for a little more now. I plan on a minkuni next and just wondering what else I can do to it.
Excuse me for my lack of knowledge on motors.

from what i hear he is good....
i think he does his own machining and makes a one peice cam instead of a cam that the lobes are welded.

 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
Yea he did my work and my podna's for half the price GTR would have done it. I'm very pleased with it. I think he and GT had a spat going on at the time though.

 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
Would there be a noticible difference if i added the BPS roller rockers and pushrods to the work Jason has already did to my motor.

 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
any lil bit will help, but adding stuff like that to a motor helps probably more on the reliability side of things more than gaining any noticable changes in HP, but once push rods and RR are added your motor becomes more reliable in my eyes, you just beefed up some parts.

 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
roller rockers will add a bit of integrity to your engine build. the diff in the ratio kind of fools the cam into thinking it is bigger than it really is. you will get a slight bump. do you have to have them no. also they are a tad bit noiser than stock rockers.its your money. you will not see a noticeable bump at the tiller handle.

 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
WOW after all these years Jason finally gets a plug on here. He is a certified Briggs warranty mechanic also. I do not believe he ever worked for Gatortail. But I know he does quality work at a fair and reasonable price.

 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
I hear ya on the rumor mill stuff. I would recommend him to anyone needing Briggs work or mods. Think that is correct, he probably has done some warranty work for Gatortail.

 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
Let restate what I said before, so I could clear the air with a phone call I got this morning. Jason does good work he did the work on my heads meaning porting them and relaping them thats it, but Hoyt put it all together and got everything I needed. So if you going to do MODs just bring to gatortail and Hoyt will take care of you...

 Re: Mods by Jason Bernice
I know some of the history of said spat. I know Jason and Hoyt personally. Both stand up guys. But just by previous mentioned mod work, why not just bring to Jason to have heads modded, since he did the work and Hoyt bolted them on? Also Jason can get , bolt on and adjust any mods. Not a plug , but their business is Bernis Tire and Service Saint Martinville, la. (for anyone curious)
