Modify smaller motor or just get a bigger motor?

 Modify smaller motor or just get a bigger motor?I want to add more horsepower and speed to my longtail. I have a 6.5 hp clone on there now and I have two options either modify it or go out and buy the Lifan 15 hp or duromax16 hp. Has anyone ever thought about this, tried it, or any reviews on the motors?
