All y'all that think GTR reverse is only good for backing the boat off the trailer, and is a useless feature for pussies are sadly mistaken. Some people who play with their toy boats two Saturdays out of the month may not need reverse that often. But I can tell you for fact, I put more hours on my motor in REVERSE in a week then most of y'all pushpoling Sports will put on your rig in a month.

It seems you use your boat in ways that the reverse is used alot...you should have that. I simply said everyone has different needs. I have boats w/ reverse...just not my mudboat.

I dont have reverse and it is a PITA. My next motor will defiantly have it.

As for mudbuddys new motors, until they are tested in real situations that people in the southern part of USA put their motors through, I am going to hold off. Testing a mudmotor in Utah doesnt make sense to me.

Why if you can have reverse but choose not to and don't tell me you don't need it I think I got enough time on a gt tiller to know better

why didnt you keep the gdsd if you dont need reverse.
unless you got the longer drive, without reverse you will be kicking yaself in the ass.you might not admit it,but you will.
if i didnt need reverse and neutral id have a 35 longtail.

I will say this way before reverse was available for any mm they were all good enough! I ran my Gatortail for 2-3 years with out reverse and thought it was the best thing ever!! Then the reverse came out went from good to 100 times better!! This is what I'm saying from experience cause I been their you will enjoy your gt but bud when it comes to performance when you ad that reverse feature it's performance goes to a whole different level!!

I've had a long tail for the past three seasons because I'm young as broke and its gotten me to the blind Ian's back. My dads got a gt, as my uncle has a pd. I've used them both in the same cOnditions as the longtails, and they serve the same purpose. I will say the reverse really does come in handy, and makes getting their and back 10x easier and yes, you will use it. Of course you could probably get there in a fucking bicycle if you had a oxygen tank and some strong ass legs, but who wants to do that? That's their point.

If that new mudbuddy proves durable it should be real nice for crawfishing...esp years when the water stays high

I can't believe anyone would be so defiant as to say reverse is useless. I have the GTR and use that reverse for a million different reasons (backing the boat off is rarely needed). It works great, not perfect. I'd laugh my ass off to see someone try and prove a push pole is better in 20 mph wind. I'm not biased either. In fact, if money were no object, I'd have a Pro Drive too and one of those Sport V's when they get proven (they look bad ass by the way...almost too good to be true).

Why is reverse useless? It just sits there it don't get in the way, if reverse hurt the performance of the motor going forward I would understand, I wish I had reverse.

Don't listen to these idiots. Reverse is just the ability of your motor to push you backward. If you want reverse just turn around and face the transom when you drive. In my EXPERT opinion they all have reverse. This should make your choice very easy.
