 X-over exhaust-1, plastic clutch cover-0
This is what happens when you don't have time to get the good clutch cover.
It burst in to flames, burning brake line and all seals in planetary.

Then, is when I should have thought to remove the caliper. That's all that's left of it from not having fluid to hold pads still. I removed what was left of the caliper, it just cracked to shit.

Disc locked up and ripped right out of planetary. Engine bogged for about a second before it flew off.

Damn dude, that GT reverse was to much for a MB I guess. I can see why the Ol G-man could never copy it.

So how was it working prior to the meltdown of the cover?

That's right, the good cover would have avoided all this in the first place.

 Re: X-over exhaust-1, plastic clutch cover-0
What caused this in the first place, did you have your pads to tight, were you not fully engaging the reverse and barely squeezing the handle? If it happened while you were running then your pads were the culprit of this fire, something happened to mine but luckily i had my trusty Aluminum cover on. Only happened because i can't stop trying to adjust stuff.

 Re: X-over exhaust-1, plastic clutch cover-0
I was right behind him. I started smelling a burining plastic smell bad. Smelled like someone had a huge pile of burning GI Joes. It kept getting stronger and I started looking around my boat thinking I was the one on fire. Then I looked forward and saw the flames. There was melted plastic everwhere.
