 Gatortail on PD hull?
Anyone put a Gatortail on a pd hull? I heard the transom angle of the PD is different than the GT boats. If I decided to put a GT on my 1854 Pd, would I lose performance due to transom angle?

If it is a short transom boat and let them raise the transom, maybe they can change the angle. I think they changed it on my GD hull when they raised it.

There are wedges made for changing the transom angle. They have been used for years on bass rigs to help out on the hole shot. Theirs a sponsor on here that I bet can make you some if you can't find them.

 Re: Gatortail on PD hull?
I suspect you will be able to trim higher but perhaps not low enough. I imagine the gt guys would know. I have a pd on a gt hull and have had several pd hulls with pd motors. I can trim further down on the gt hull. not as far up. I have the full range needed and it works great just doesn't trim as high as when I had a pd hull. I had a manual pd on this hull and it did not trim high enough. It didn't have reverse either. it was a good excuse to order a new 36 with trim and reverse.
****The manual trim situation could have been corrected with shims and/or a bigger roller on the pd. After running several with trim and reverse I hated not having either and jumped at the chance to sell it after a few hours of use.

I got a boat with what i think is a 15* Tansom angle and i have a Gator Tail. It runs great. I just cant trim down as far as a GT boat with a 20* transom.
