Post line-x on gun barrel?
I have an old remington 870... was thinking having someone LINE-X (spray in bed liner material) that gun barrel and action part of the gun. Has anyone ever tried this and how did it go? If you dont mind post your pics of your gun if you have ever tried this.

A rubber based coating on a gun barrel that gets hot as hell....

I can Duracoat the 870 if ur interested. It's a self lubricating metal sealant. Great for shotguns and rifles. Pm me if interested.

F that!! It's an 870, just buy a new one instead of paying 150 bucks to make the old one heavier.

That way you have a spare.

Cerakote holds up way better than duracoat. But like 4cody4 said its an 870, rattle can it.

Ceracoat is a great product just don't have an oven to cure it so I use the Duracoat. Rattle can is a good alternative just make sure the metal is prepared well before applying or moisture will rust the metal under the paint. High temp BBQ paint works well and high temp engine paint. Engine paint takes a lil longer to dry.

Who said anything abt 150 bucks?

I just threw out a number. Just sayin i wouldn't spend a ton on a gun that only cost a few hundred bucks. Those baby's are supposed to look battle hardened. Paint that thing and keep killin.

They make an air dry cerakote, not quite as durable but actually has a higher heat resistance

Why even paint it? The outside of my gun looks like hell but the guts still look like new.

appreciate the input.. yes it is an 870 but in these salt marshes I hunt I really dont feel like bringing a good gun out there when mine works just fine. I take down more than my friends and their fancy ones haha 8-) 8-) Tired of the rust the moment I take it out of the bag lol... I'm just wanting to make the 870 the ultimate marsh gun like its not already. Never really seen the coating done before just figured some crazy SOB'S on here have tried it ;) .
