 Damn rev limiter!!!! got me going nuts. Didn't get fire to the plugs, unhooked the rev limiter and fired up. Went to testing wires and the limiter. It's been working like a charm since I installed it. Heres where it gets crazy. Volt meter says I have 12.8 volts on the wire that the rev limiter is powered by, but you don't hear the "click" of the limiter. BUT....when I pulled my lawnmover over and powered the limiter by a set of jumper cables, it clicked on. Tied the cables onto the limiter wires, and it cranked, even with the green "kill" wire still hooked up. So I gather that 1. the limiter works 2. Got enough voltage to power the limiter 3. Power wire has good volts at switch, and on both sides of the harness connector. All connections with splice connectors and the ground wire seem legit. Electrical problems are a friggin nightmare when shit should work but don't! Gonna conference in with the boat dr. tomorrow.

Re: Damn rev limiter!!!! A bad splice could cause it....good enough for voltage but not good enough for current (amp) just fought this brake light on my truck.had voltage but a loose plug kept it from being able to carry the load of the light...low amps.

Re: Damn rev limiter!!!! check this out. I had my boat hanging from my shop rafters for the gatorglide to cure. Couldn't figure out how in the hell my limiter quit working when nothing had been done. My dumbass neighbor came over and unhooked my battery to borrow it while I was away, then re-installed it with the pos. wire on the neg. terminal! He saw me out there tinkering and asked what was wrong with the boat. Then he told me he borrowed it and I checked the batt.....GD if he didn't put it back backwards!!!!

Re: Damn rev limiter!!!! will do. Should be ok, though. Only cranked it up twice for a total of less than a minute. What should I look for when checking? I remember something about a certain rpm slot for charging.

Re: Damn rev limiter!!!!  Glad ya got her figured out. And, it only takes 1 crank on the starter (with the battery leads reversed) to fry the voltage regulator. Better make sure it's ok.
