New to the MM world....Need some input. Which motor is more powerful and creates more speed a mud buddy or a pro drive??? Looking at getting one in the near future and would be putting it on an Excel mud boat. Thx for all the help!

A stock 35 hp pd and a stock 35hp mudbuddy put out the same power......it all depends on boat size,load, and what your running as far as mud or vegitation etc.

Post that info and you should get a better response

Well given the fact that pd are a 36 hp that means they infact have 1 more hp than mb. However mbs's have a higher gear ratio than pd which makes you go faster. either way on excel boat you aren't going anywhere fast.

For the record, they are talking about no more than a 2-3 mph difference.

Different folks different strokes I guess, but 2-3 mph wont make that much difference to me to sacrifice features that I wanted.
I guess that you will get to the spot 2-3 mins before a poor ol PD. well.

But you put mb and pd on same angle and the mb still wins cause of gear ratio.

Then why is the GDSD so slow? That thing can reach down so deep it'll chop the flip flops off a china mans feet!

No I completly understand the trim and angle of thrust. But gear ratio does have something to do with it

Bottom line is the closer to parralell the shaft is to the water surface, the more efficient the unit will be.

More comparible to a MB than a PD by far, MB and GT have almost the same exact drive angle, hence all the MB, GT hype

As for me being full of shit, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know how a boat should be braced... anytime something touches the bottom of the boat going across its not good.

The fact it is too much money for too little hull, coupled with the fact I wouldn't piss on G Foreman if he was on fire is enough for me to assure you I will never own one.
