Thanks for all the yap on these pages. I just sold my 1st MM. It was a 24 Honda on a Bog Hog frame. I am so glad to not have to change another bushing! It worked... on and off for the last 2 yrs, was fun to build, but it was time to move up. It was hard to drive and was also very primitive.
Pro-Drive seemed to be a good choice, but I look at the FPR as a design flaw it seems very impractical to have to unlock the power head and rotate the lower unit. Also looks to be time consuming, and I would probably just get sick of doing it, so I had gotten a quote from Mud Buddy and set up a demo, and was set on the 35 mini with a set of the BPS duals. Then I found you guys... Thanks for saving me! I never heard of Gator Tail until I found this place. The instant reverse was just what I was looking for. Now I can sell the 25 Merc that I was going to keep for fishing. I have to wait another 2 weeks plus for delivery, but I think it will be worth the wait and money.
I wonder how that 1st ride will be... Going from the worst MM on the market to the best on the market? I will say 1 thing about that Bog Hog though... I got into the same places as my buddy did with his GDSD27... The only difference was that I was able to get back out

One quick note on the FPR, anyone that has ever used it knows it doesn't take any time at all to use, and it is definitely not a design flaw. Glad you got motor that works for YOU.

I hope you aren't expecting the GTR reverse to be as effective as a PD's FPR.

Sure it works great around the dock, froggin, and putting it on the trailer. Just don't expect to back up very far in thick grass or deep mud. The extra time to engage it is well worth the power in the thick stuff. Some others may agree, but this is observations I've made seeing both perform.

Oh, you can back up 6' before there is so much mud or grass behind the boat and around the belt housing that you can't go anymore! Awesome!
