Post gatortail question
I was wondering if anyone knows why sometimes when i switch from start to forward on my GTR it kills. I know it is something stupid but i just don't know. I have looked in the search box and could not find the answer i was looking for.

No, it does it mostly right when i launch the boat. Could my rpm's be to low. My friend said something about a tab that needs to be bent or something. No clue, it only happens for a liitle while then its fine.

What does it idle at? Most stock motors should idle okay in the 12-1300 range in neutral and 1000-1100 in gear. Improperly set or leaking valves can cause some idle issues, but check and see what your rpm's are first.

I adjusted the idle yesterday and got it back to normal. I was just curious about the killing issue

But would that aways occur if the valves were not sitting right. It only occurs right from the launch and my friend who has a GTR as well says it happens to his sometimes.

Most likely it's leaky or improperly adjusted valves. Set the valve lash to .005 & see if it gets any better.
