 gatortail question I was wondering if anyone knows why sometimes when i switch from start to forward on my GTR it kills. I know it is something stupid but i just don't know. I have looked in the search box and could not find the answer i was looking for.

Re: gatortail question No, it does it mostly right when i launch the boat. Could my rpm's be to low. My friend said something about a tab that needs to be bent or something. No clue, it only happens for a liitle while then its fine.

Re: gatortail question What does it idle at? Most stock motors should idle okay in the 12-1300 range in neutral and 1000-1100 in gear. Improperly set or leaking valves can cause some idle issues, but check and see what your rpm's are first.

Re: gatortail question But would that aways occur if the valves were not sitting right. It only occurs right from the launch and my friend who has a GTR as well says it happens to his sometimes.

Re: gatortail question Most likely it's leaky or improperly adjusted valves. Set the valve lash to .005 & see if it gets any better.
