 Painting Muffler
I'm in the process of fixing up a smoker and picked up a spray can "Ace Rust Stop BBQ Black". The can says its good to a 1000 degrees. The muffler on my LT is rusted up due to saltwater. Anyone ever tried spraying this stuff on their muffler? Would it last?

 Re: Painting Muffler
Stove Bright. It's the best stuff on the market for high temp spray paint. 1200 degrees and still keeps its color. Almost all the wood stove manufactures use this paint on their stoves. We use it all the time so I have lots of partial cans on the shelf. Had to fix a couple of cracked welds last fall so I painted it up while I had it off. 30 hours later and still looks good, but my boat sits inside when not on the water.

 Re: Painting Muffler
I painted my old godevil muffler with the high temp stuff. Held up good for a year, then i sold it so dont know if it lasted or not. The only thing that happened was around the exhaust port it turned grey. Rest of it stayed on and stayed black.

 Re: Painting Muffler
I 'm thinking bout painting it anyway and seeing how long it lasts. I doubt it'll last long, but what's the worse that can happen? The paint will just burn off eventually. Can yall think of any way spraying it could fuk up the muffler eventually? I'm selling it in a month or so and I just put a paint job on it, but the muffler looks like a POS.
