Cause huntdecks look cool, duh!

I got a 16 inch ransom. My motor is for a 20 inch ransom. I real like the benifits, while hunting, of a huntdeck. So instead of just building up the ransom, which would be an easy fix, I figured I would add the huntdeck and the taller ransom at the same time. If I were to swap boats, I don't think I would like the mud hull as a "hunting" boat, because of the fact that if hunting from a boat, 3 or 4 people, in swivel seats, the guy in the front would be sticking up farther than the rest. Head poking out of the blind and so on. The 6ft rake on a mud boat sits up out of the water while at rest, making for a very unlevel floor. Couple that with a lil ice and mud and you got a fiasco. I would consider going to a longer modified v like mentioned in the post above. His situation sounds more like mine.

So many misconceptions, so little time...

You can build a smooth bottom "mud hull" with whatever length and style rake you want. If you don't like the boats with a lot of rise get someone else to build one.

Get J to build your huntdeck. That way, if you don't like it, you can just kick it off the back of the boat pretty easily... Right, BradS?

I know a guy who has a 1854gd, he loves it. I may go that rout. Im not arguing with anyone, Yall r very dead set in your ways, and that's cool, I'm sure my boat will not perform to your standards. Thanks for the input.
