 spot light/ AC adapter ?
First of all does anyone know of anybody that works on spotlights? Second can anyone give me some info on installing an AC adapter in my boat. I was wondering if that draws much fire from the battery or if I should have it on a seperate battery or what? any thoughts???

Re: spot light/ AC adapter ?
Do you mean DC? You will not get AC power out of a 12V DC battery unless you use an inverter.

Re: spot light/ AC adapter ?
you don't need an adapter, inverter, or anything else to run a spotlight off of a 12 volt battery. just wire it straight to the battery.

Or you can just get a rechargeable spotlight and not worry about wires and plugs and clips and shit, if the spotlight you're talking about is handheld...

Re: spot light/ AC adapter ?
go get the adapter form wal-mart that just clips to a battery. easy simple and can move it to anywhere in the boat.

Re: spot light/ AC adapter ?
I got the clips to go straight to the battery I want the AC adapter so that I can run 2 all night. Wouldnt need the adapter if they still sold good spotlights-had a brinkman LED that would last all night til I dropped it in water. Does anyone know how much fire does it charge from the battery if I'd use the adapter while having the other spotlight connected to the battery? Am I better off running the AC plug to an extra battery? Ideas are appreciated

Re: spot light/ AC adapter ?
look I'm really not sure what I need I know that I bought a spotlight that u can plug in a vehicle and use. And I already have a spotlight that runs to my battery so I want to hook up this one to an outlet in my boat.

Re: spot light/ AC adapter ?
OK, I'll restart. I currently have a handheld spotlight that I bought an adapter with the clips to connect to my battery. I have another spotlight that works the same way and would like to run both at the same time. My concern was about the plug in(like u see in a car). I wanted to see if it would draw a lot of fire from the battery, make my battery life shorter, or have no affect.

Re: spot light/ AC adapter ?
do you know the difference bt AC and DC?
you can run two lights wired 12volt DC to your battery. If your engine isnt a CDI be sure to have another battery.
I have ran two 100watt aircraft lights off my one optima yellow top while frogging with the CDI motor.

Re: spot light/ AC adapter ?
Ok yea I need a 12 V DC outlet. what is this CDI? and I'm sure as long as the motor isn't on it wont draw fire so Ill probably be ok with the outlet, right?
