Post set up first mm
Just bought a used copperhead 12 .. got it on a 1648 flat polarcrap .. I've never owned a mm .. my question is the motor runs and planes out good but pushes hard to the right .. I moved it alight each way trying to get it to not push ... Should it be centered .. is this just what they do ..?

Sounds like you need to bend the end of the skeg to eliminate the tiller torque. It looks like it is set up to do this, it just hasn't been done yet. Probably wouldn't hurt to call Copperhead and let them advise you on it.

Bend the skeg in the direction you want the boat to go. For example, bending it to port side will make the boat track towards the port side.

Yes, but the ones I know of are bent from the factory and you just "adjust" them based on you boat's handling

The skeg is angled on my Copperhead. I can tell you from experience though that if you are running with the prop too high out of the water, the steering torque can be so bad you cannot steer and it is not optimal for speed either. As soon as you drop it a little the problem goes away. There is a learning curve to knowing how to run it.

X2 on the prop position. The prop needs to be trimed right or it will cause the engine to pull hard, in my case, to the right. Call Gil at Copperhead. He will be able to talk you thru it. What sort of speeds did you get?
