Post Transmission fluid on 35GTR?
Do you have to use non detergent oil in the transmission? What other oils can you use?

Oil is oil. WestEndAngler will chime in and say use NON DETERGENT HD30 oil in the trans.... But oil is oil.

Doesn't it specify to use Synthetic 5W-30 oil in the manual?

Use the same oil you put in the crankcase, whether it's Royal Purple or the no name house brand from parts house.

It is just a planeteray gearbox. Run the same oil you want to run in the crank case.

If you want to be technical you can run ATF in the mofo and it will be fine. Transmissions and Transfercases have planetary gears and they survive.... oil is oil

It's just to keep it lubricated fellers !! Keep the moisture out peanut oil would probably work!! But don't try it lol
