I have a prodrive 36 and im looking to get some new heads and just wondering what people think about the two?

Not trying to jack your thread but I have a35 mud buggy and was wondering the same thing . I know there hard to get ahold of I've tried a couple time and left messages but no respons yet I noticed they have a special right now on their heads.

Fuck Iron Mountain heads.

Can't vouch for IM heads, but do yourselves a favor and at least talk to SETX. You will not be disappointed! IMO they're the only way to go...

Iron Mountain is by far the worst!!

Calen's Engine Service, Hoyt at GatorTail or SETX Perf. can all fix you up.

Whatever you do, stay away from Iron Mountain.

I got setx to do my heads did a good job and even after doing them is very concered of how they are doing.. i fwel like i can call him and he can walk me thru just about anything... that in itself is worth it to me id say setx all the way

Whats the turn around time if you send them to Cody?

I tried to contact him this week, sounds like he's pretty busy.

That's how my heads from gator- tail looked. If I had it to do over again, I would have sent them to Cody at setx performance.

I think most people who spend $500-$600 dollars on a set of performance heads care more about reliability and actual performance than cosmetic cuteness.

I for one can't find it within myself to allow someone to spend $500+ dollars on a set of heads, that he'll again have to remove, send off for valve work (resulting in costing hundreds of dollars more) after only 10 hours runtime.

Yes, BPS heads may be the prettiest, but all of the others will outlast and outperform those from BPS any day!!

Again, Hoyt, Calen or SETX can fix you up with custom decked, ported, and polished heads (specific to your application) that are seasoned guaranteeing you HUNDREDS of hours of hard use whereas the Iron Mountain heads will need to be re-worked after only 10-20 hours.

But hey, they're pretty under the valve covers..

I must have got screwed because Hoyt charged me around750 with me sending back my heads for the core.

If you spend that kind of money & you're not satisfied with the product, you should contact them & tell them before you get on the www & bash em.

I don't really care because I don't own the boat or motor anymore. I could care less what anybody thinks, just giving my opinion!!

Do a leakdown test.

Check your hull for dents as well.

You can loose that much on a worn prop as well...How long is your prop from tip to tip? Does it still have a cup to it?
