Bought my new mikuni carb kit and cant get it to run adjuated the acc pump and air fuel.like book said boat dr but my jets in said it was ready to go it will run with stock one fine any advice

Its not like your pluggin in something to an outlet there will be tuning no matter what.. read the manual.

Don't tune it like the manual say as far as the air fuel screw cause it'll be to much. Only need to come out with it once botted out about a 1/4 turn

It will need some fine tuning however it should run with the settings in place. Did it crank up at all before you started turning screws and adjusting things?

No it wouldnt crank with the mikuni.. it would run fine with the stock.. it has a 175 main and 25 idle.. took it apart and cleaned eveything and started over i think its pumping to much fuel bc i have gas coming out of exhaust afeter a long cycle of cranking...

Sorry first post was horrible must been in that big of a rush... the only thing it will do is backfire every now and then ... im definetaly the best carb.mechanic but my air/fuel mixture is out one n a quarter turns just seems like im getting way to much fuel.. i checked spark its good have changed tge plugs out as well... got curious so i put stock back on and it cranks up and will run fine

I thought the BPS kits come with a 160 main. 175 might be too big.

That i thought to but main doesnt come into play until.about 1/4 to half throttle... thought i may have an air leak bc it will crank with my hand over intake but kills when u take it off... checked all joints conections everytgibg is tight and sprayed some carb cleaner while cranking to see if it was leaking at the boot and at the stock intake and it isnt... i have spark. And fuel bc my hand comes off wet with gas after manually choking

Tried calling him and he was jammed up this afternoon didnt wanna bother to much if i cant get it i will bring it to gim he can fix it in about 10 minutes probably

Bad thing is put the stock carb on and it doesnt even make a quarter revolution amd cranks... i still think.its an air leak has anyone had problems with the carb itself leaking air???? Im gonna take front plate n top plate off make sure they all have gaskets
