i was stuck last week end and when i got home i was thinking. i culd make a ancor thing that u put in the mud and u culd attach ur winch to it and pull ur boat across the mud. anybody ever made some thing like that?

I think that would depend on how stuck ya are. Another addition ta the anchor is get a river anchor and drive 2 piles into the bottom with a sledge hammer then hook the anchor around the 2 poles. That works only if a guy can find some hard ground under the muck.

Best thing I found is a T post and a post driver. Drive them
In at an angle away from the boat and drive it till its firm. Best tow anchor I have had.

What you are talking about is a smaller version of a dead man's anchor. I think Warn used to make one for trucks, but is was big and heavy.

I've done what your talking about accept it wasn't attached to a winch it was all arm power lol works pretty good though...biggest thing is just getting a good bite with the anchor

I use the 8lb danforth anchor I keep on the boat. The boat will winch right up to it in the muck. Once directly over top of it, it pulls it up...repeat as necessary.

elebouef102 a gator tail wouldnt get to the places i get stuck. dont want to ruin the warrenty by making it stage 1 any way
