Re: gtr vs MB The Gd didnt make it off the trailer.
so if the mud buddy was on the gt boat would it have made it? i think the mud buddy had the advantage due to the boat being a couple hundred pounds lighter.

Looks to me like the lighter boat paid off... Motor wasn't the factor.

Truth be told, WEA hadn't had the boat long, & had never been in mud like that before, so he didn't know he needed to run on the bottom hole. But hey, it made for a good video.

Re: gtr vs MB The Gd didnt make it off the trailer.
Good stuff. First time I was ever out in SETX right there. I stopped in the wrong spot Justin was right next to me hung up & got out with his Borel & stock GTR. So I was planning on doing the same. Most people fail to realize that there is a learning curve with mud motors. I just purchased my setup. We all know each motor has a learning curve, each motor performs different in situations & until you learn to drive YOUR motor you are subject to being stuck & hung up like you see in the original video. I have hooked up to Keith before & pulled him out. Most of my 2 years of running in SETX (Port Neches) originally were all with a stock motor. Going to rides and meeting folks like Craig, Terry & Hoyt and watching them drive their machines & listening to the advice they suggest helped immensely. Little tricks of what to do & how to properly drive your rig in certain conditions & scenarios. Listen if you are not getting hung up, stuck, whatever you want to call it you are not pushing your rig hard enough. How do you know what it can & can't do? Do you know what viscosity the mud needs to be in order for you to hole shot & get on plane? I appreciate Keith hooking up to me that day. That was the first day I met those guys & they welcomed me into their group of friends even when all of MMT was giving them hell for showing up in force here on the site. That was also the first time I met Cody. He was nice enough to hop into my boat & lend me a hand (literally). The rubber grip on the tiller handle tore & when it did my palm hit the tiller & ripped wide open. I was rendered useless on the tiller. Cody jumped on & asked why I had my motor pin still in the top hole... Huh? I have no idea what pin he was talking about. (ROOKIE MISTAKE). Cody was able to pull the pin & get the boat 10-15' further before Keith got to us. I left Port Neches that evening with a new high. I had found an area near me that I could enjoy & have fun in. I was back 2 weeks later, armed with new knowledge about working the reverse first and dropping the pin at the ramp etc. Here's a 10 minute video that was shot my 2nd time in Port Neches it has, at times, the most challenging mud around my area. In this final video I was worried we were going to have all 3 boats stuck daisy chained together... Luckily that didn't end up being the case. The two other boats pulling on TeamCamo ended up un-hooking. I ended up getting him unstuck by rocking my rig backwards and giving him a few jerks forward. The reverse allows multiple pull attempts as you can back up a big plus when out on the flat with your friends. The key out here is a long shaft. The mud is thick & deep and if you can't dig down deep enough your left with a hole near your prop. Can't wait until the fronts start coming. Should be some fun mud riding later this year & into the first part of next!

Re: gtr vs MB The Gd didnt make it off the trailer.
X2 on the long shaft being the key in setx mud that longer reach makes all the difference

Re: gtr vs MB The Gd didnt make it off the trailer.
Oh yea i had the 32" on and the boat was light I'm sure if you put a 32" on an mm with the same trim angle it would be able to do the same Driving experience has alot to do with it. It didn't do better because its a mud buddy
