 5 HP Honda Surging
Hey ya'll. I am new on here and happy to be here. Hoping for some help cause I have a real sick wife and free time to work on my motor is very lean. Yesterday my 2002 5HP Honda GC 160 Mud Buddy Longtail quit idling and is surging at mid range. It runs great wide open. The fuel is a couple months old with Stabil, gov spring and throttle return spring are new and ran well. Plug is clean, electrical seems solid, starts third pull cold as it has for a decade, and first pull when warm. I am sure a carb cleaning will help, air filter is new, have new fuel lines to install, but am wondering if the fuel pump could be the problem (varnished) and if so can it be blown out with a compressor??? No fuel filter on this motor that I can find or fuel screen. Any ideas would be a great help. Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

 Re: 5 HP Honda Surging
I think your on the right track with the Carb possibly being dirty you might also check for an air leak somewhere on your intake boot for your Carb maybe
