 single cylinder muffler
Are there any options for quieting down or at least mellowing out the pitch of the exhaust on a honda clone? After running my longtail for a little my ears are still ringing when i turn the engine off. I was thinking of adding a tractor muffler or at least redirecting the exaust down the frame and cutting the exhaust tube about a foot up from the water. What say you guys? I know alot of the noise is all the moving parts but there has to be something I can do.

 Re: single cylinder muffler
what does it currently have? You can get header style mufflers for them and extend them however you like, they at least direct the noise behind you and away from you, Or you can put in ear plugs and let the neighbors deal with the noise

 Re: single cylinder muffler
You could try putting some tampons in your ears...

 Re: single cylinder muffler
Will the silencer kill the performance? Sounds like to me that pipes with silencer would be about the same as stock muffler

 Re: single cylinder muffler
I have the stock muffler which is very small with a huge heat shield that directs the noise out the side. Even if I could find a way to deepen the noise of the exhaust it would be good. Would a header with a silencer do that? After running it again its more the pitch than the noise thats bothering me.
