i had a 25 and a 27 kholer and got over 1500 hrs on each with very little problems. they are some really reliable engines.
had a generac for 400 hrs, but too many rpm's and low oil pressure blewed it up. [it was hopped up]

my first 36 briggs had 268 hrs then was replaced due to a engine defect.

the 36 i'm running now has 1493 hrs and 2 cracked heads. gonna replace them when the sparkplugs blow out or i find a set of used heads.

1800 hours on a 25 kohler, yes 1800... guy gave it to me with 1750 on it. He was a crawfisherman and used it everyday.. the motor still runs perfect and starts on the first turn.

Just sold my 1648 pro-drive with pd 27. it had well over 1000 hrs on it when the tach reset itself. had another 200 and change when it left the driveway. Used it for hunting of course.....duck and deer. Fished out of it in the spring/summer, frog gigged out of it in summer, and just rode around a lot! Bullet proof setup for me. Never did ribuild it..l.had the nag of loose lower unit bolts too many times to count and finally changed lower to the new style. Only changed the oil in the thing 3 times while I had it. Crashed it , jumped it, ran it, and sunk it, but it always got me home!1!! It was an 06.
Just bought a 1848 with a 36 and love it so far!!!
