17 54 seminole bateau with 27 mudbuddy surface drive speed? by yourself? two people and full load of gear? im wanting to get a surface drive for my bateau, but want to make sure im getting one that will push it good enough.

get at least a 35

By yourself low 20's. 2 people and gear about 15 +\- in deep water, high teens in shallows. Those kohlers don't seem to handle a load too well.

I've got a 1754hd gatortraxs with a 27 mudbuddy mini with an empty boat just me and my son it will run 21 all day in shallow it bumped 23 going with the wind no chop , now that teal seasons here, i've got few bags of decoys two PP guns cooler and all the other shit that go with huntin I'm running about 18 to 19 with three people and light load it will run 17 , go with the 35 if you can , the 27 will work but it labors to get on step once its up it does good , but it will get you stuck like chuck without the extra power to push threw like a 35 will.

My dad and i went 30 mph all day with a 36 horse power pro-drive on a 17 ft aluminum skiff.

I used to have a 27 mudbuddy mini with a stage 1 kit on a 1544 HD. The best I could get was 25 solo in deep water. I would get a 35 of at all possible.
