Well guys, I have thought it over long and hard. I am going to take a new job that comes with a promotion and a raise with another company. The bad news is that I will miss most of the next two duck seasons. Good news is that it is in a cool spot on the far side of the world and this should enable me to pay off the house, truck, boat and everything else.

Doesnt sound too different than the job I've had for 6 years. The good thing is, if you make hay while the sun is shining and after you become established it becomes easier to get free time. I work like crazy 10 months out of the year and plan my work so that I've gotten to hunt more the last 2-3 years than I ever have. Of course, I'm out of town the other 300 days of the year. All that just changed for me though, my oldest kid is starting kindergarten so its time for me to get settled. Now I'll be home more and probably get to hunt less!

Good luck and dont let it take over your life/family. There will always be jobs.

I don't blame ya, I was at the Fontana center the other day and there was a guy there that had been in Nigeria for 19 years... took a demotion to get back in the GoM.

malaysia is really nice and no crime ... not to far from they have them longtails that have 2 strokes get 1 of them to ride around on .. if you stay over there more than 16 months everything is tax free . be careful and send some pics

I have not paid taxes in the last 8 years. That's why i don't want to go work back in the states. That would be 30,000 dollar or more a year I will lose. I worked 28/28 and 35/35. I did file my taxes . All you need is a good C.P.A. This year I will have to pay something due to some tax changes, but it will not be more that 400.00 dollars.
