 go devil died today
well i was just letting my go devil run out in the shop today and after about 15 minutes it just shut down like someone had turned the key off. it wouldnt even turn over.
my question is how prone are the key switches or kill switches to failure?
the reason i think it was either the switch or the kill switch is because the motor shutt off by its self and wouldn't even turn over after i had waited a while. i could hear the clicking when i turned the switch to run but it would do nothing when i turned it to start.i took the plastic off to get to the back of the key switch and checked for loose wires and then when i pluged it back in i nolonger heared the clicking when i turned the key to run. 25 hp kohler motor thanks guys

 Re: go devil died today
how can i check the selinoid?
i did put a wrench from the selinoid to the frame and that turned the motor over but i pulled it away before it would start. the second time i did that it blowed the fuse going to the started and would still trun the started but not engage it to the flywheel.
all the wires look to be fine so after i took the cover off i began wiggeling every wire i could find while holding the key to the START position... nothing i thought i would beable to find the loose conection but no luck. i bought a new key switch off ebay last night and it that dosent fix it then its going to the local small engin shop.

 Re: go devil died today
Mine have always turned over even with a bad kill switch, if you pull the little thing that hooks on the kill switch, mine will turn over, just wont start. Sounds like a wiring issue somewhere. Does it have the mercury switch on it?

 Re: go devil died today
Trace the wiring from the kill switch to the motor and check the connection. Mine vibrated a little loose one day on a ride and it took me forever to figure out the problem. Did exactly what you're sayin though, runnin fine and then it just killed.
