Hello all, I am trying to overcome the speed issue of our longtail. Wanted to see what type of mods are available for it and what company would/could do them as I have found out some companies specialize in certain motor types. We do not want to move up to a surface drive due to the prop and 25Hp requirement we have at the NWR's in the areas we hunt. Currently this is what we get with a new prop/plugs and coils. Also, we plan on gatorgliding the bottom next year which I have read can assist with speed as we have a pretty scratched hull.

2 man 15mph
3 man 14mph

You are pretty much at the limit of what your motor will do, without a gear reduction all the mods will be almost useless. If you need more speed take the money you would waste on mods and buy a SD frame that will fit your existing motor. Mods on a LT are just diminishing returns.

25 gtr

Triple C, I looked into the 25 gtr let me know if im mistaken did you mean 23 gtr? Or a modded 23 gtr which would be the equivalent of 25hp? Or is there a 25hp GTR coming out soon? Thank you again for the direction as it has been very helpful in my quest for speed!

Also, if anyone has a 23 gtr i'd like to know what type of performance they are getting my boat is a GD 16x44 round chine. I know the website for GTR says 24 to 27mph but that could be on a 10 foot by 24 inch boat for all I know. Thanks again everyone.
